A guided tour of the old city starting from Lal Pul, Tila Wali Masjid, Bara Imambara, Gol Darwaza, Chowk Bazaar, Phool wali Gali to Akbari Darwaza is available daily from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM. April to September and 8.00 AM to 10.30 AM October to March.
I took the talk on the 1st of July 2011.It was a very enriching experience. In spite of being born and brought up in Lucknow I had never seen some of the places I saw on the walk. I am sure there are many people like me who have lived in Lucknow all their lives but have never seen this side of Lucknow. This walk is a must for them.

DeleteMy wife and I went with a group of 6 foreigners 1 month ago. We were promised a tour guide who spoke English for the price of 50 rupees per person. Our tour guide spoke NO English whatsoever except some random dates ("Yeh building tho 1763 built" does not equal English). Before the tour, he confirmed 50 rupees per person. Afterward he wanted more than twice that (over 1000 rupees) and pretended not to remember anything else.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great walk, but could be soooo much more with responsible guidance, honesty and clear communication.
This is really pathetic. Please stop organizing this walk. We were in for a great deal of shock and the guide is very arrogant. He asks for gratuities after the worst walk that you could ever have. No money receipt will be given to you.
